Adam Lambert and Nile Rodgers Cover David Bowie’s Classic "Let’s Dance" – About – News & Issues
Adam Lambert continues to demonstrate that he has one of the most powerful and unique voices in current pop music. Last night he joined the legendary Nile Rodgers to deliver a rousing cover version of David Bowie’s classic ”Let’s Dance.” Nile Rodgers is the leader of disco band Chic who gave us the #1 smash hits ”Le Freak” and ”Good Times.” Following the heyday of the group, Nile Rodgers turned to production and session work. Among his successes was David Bowie’s chart topping ”Let’s Dance.” Nile Rodgers returned to the spotlight this year with his inimitable guitar work on Daft Punk’s ”Get Lucky.”[1][2] Adam Lambert will be performing at this year’s iHeartRadio Festival with Queen taking over Freddie Mercury’s classic lead vocals. Last night’s event was Nile Rodgers’ dance party to benefit the non-profit All For the East End[3]. This was not Adam Lambert’s first collaboration with Nile Rodgers. They worked together on the track ”Shady” from Adam Lambert’s #1 hit album Trespassing.

Duo team up at Rodger’s US fundraising gig Photo: Avicii / Twitter Having previously stepped into the shoes of Freddie Mercury to front Queen in 2012, US singer Adam Lambert[1] has now joined music icon Nile Rodgers to perform a version of David Bowie’s iconic, ’Let’s Dance’ hit. Check out a video of the performance below. Lambert and Rodgers have worked together on a new track alongside rising EDM superstar AVicii, and the duo performed the track at Rodgers Nile’s All For The East End fundraising event last night, 19 August 2013. Rodgers originally produced the track for Bowie in 1983. ”Adam is going to do a song I did with a great friend of mine named David Bowie,” said Rodgers as he introduced the track. ”In this situation, this is not a suggestion, it’s a command.” Watch Nile Rodgers and Adam Lambert perform ’Let’s Dance’ below Speaking of the performance after the event, Lambert later tweeted: ”Wow! ’Now Let’s Dance’ along with Dan Zanes and Elizabeth Mitchell – Entertainment Weekly
Family-oriented folk stars Dan Zanes and Elizabeth Mitchell with You Are My Flower have teamed up to release a new album, Turn Turn Turn. But before the album’s Aug. 27 release, Zanes and Mitchell invite fans of all ages to “twirl and whirl” in the music video premiere for their single “Now Let’s Dance.”Zanes and Mitchell are also set to perform on Sprout’s Sunny Side Up Show, a live programming block aimed at preparing preschoolers to start the day.
