TWO friends who have known each other for more than 30 years have chosen to get together to take part in Prospect Hospice[1]’s annual dance-themed challenge, Let’s Dance. Gaye Blackmore, 52, from Wroughton[2], and Kevin McSherry, 62, from Old Town[3], will over eight weeks’ worth of dance lessons be learning the steps they will need to master to compete in the fundraiser’s grand finale at the end of November, at the MECA. Practice nurse Gaye has some limited experience of dancing, having taken lessons in Ceroc – a fusion of jive and salsa – in recent years. Retired project manager Kevin is, by his own admission, a complete novice. Gaye loves TV’s Strictly Come Dancing, however, while Kevin takes inspiration for taking part from his late father, who loved to dance.
