First ever ’Strictly let’s Dance’ launches in West Cork – Southern Star Newspaper

(Photo: Ger Bonus) HEARTS are set to race on dance floors across West Cork as the Irish Heart Foundation in association with The Southern Star and the Celtic Ross Hotel, brings its own red hot version of a hit ballroom dancing television show to West Cork. In its first ever ‘Strictly let’s Dance’ ballroom competition, the national charity, which fights heart disease and stroke, is giving thirty budding dancers from West Cork the chance to train for seven weeks alongside top choreographer Rosemary Watson, before competing in a glamorous dance-off finale in the Celtic Ross Hotel in West Cork. Delighted Dancers will be partnered up during training, and on the night of the final competition a judging panel will crown two lucky participants King and Queen of the dance floor. Irish Heart Foundation Regional Fundraising Manager Anne Riordan said: ‘We’re delighted to be holding our first ever ‘Strictly let’s Dance’ fundraiser in West Cork and hope local people will put on their glad rags and dance their hearts out to support our fight against heart disease and stroke
