youtube.com PARIS – Four male models at Alexis Mabille for Paris Men’s Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 come out in tees with the designer’s name on it before taking them off, undoing the belts holding up their white Bermuda shorts and revealing beautifully graphic black and white briefs underneath. If that doesn’t make an impact, the rest of the Alex Mabille show certainly will! Mabille made his debut in the menswear runway in 2010. The t-shirts read ”Alexis dresses me”, ”Alexis undresses me.” How fitting for an underwear collection collaboration with the underwear label Hom. The theme for this collection was bain de soleil (which means sunbathing.) It included swimwear alongside underwear. The models that came later to showcase his new underwear line wore nautical stripes, chains across their chests, robes, and even some peacoats

The Spring 2012 men’s line was typical Smalto with its many light-weight suits – this time inspired by the 1970s. However, the many of the suits featured a embroideries, like a crocodile skin, that added an extra touch and drove home Smalto’s commitment to hand tailoring.
